OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION IS TO FEED, CLOTHE AND PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SERVICES  TO THE UNDERSERVED IN WEST FORT BEND COUNTY.

OUR HISTORY

Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands was founded in 1985 by churches in the West Fort Bend County area, as a non-profit organization that helps people in crisis by providing basic needs on a short-term basis.  We strive to provide assistance until the individual or family becomes self-sufficient.

We do not receive state or federal funding.  We are supported by food, clothing and monetary donations.  The donations come from churches, private individuals, civic organizations, private foundations, and corporations.

We have a very close relationship with our partnering churches in West Fort Bend County.  Covenant churches signed a pledge promising financial support and agreed to hold at least two yearly food and/or clothing drives.  New churches are always welcome to join in our efforts.

OUR core values

IT IS OUR OBJECTIVE TO RESPECT THE DIGNITY AND VALUE OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL AND TO OFFER ASSISTANCE WITH HUMILITY AND COMPASSION.

Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System

Helping Hands is a core member agency in the Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System. We have partnered alongside six other local food pantries and social service agencies. The collaborative includes: Rosenberg-Richmond Helping Hands, Inc., East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry, Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels, Second Mile Mission, Katy Christian Ministries, Fort Bend County Social Services, and Fort Bend County Community Paramedics, Fort Bend County Behavioral Health Department, Fort Bend Clubhouse, Access Health, Fort Bend Hope, Rosenberg Housing Authority.

As a collaborative, we host several programs together throughout the year including a school supply drive and Christmas program.

School Supplies

During the summer, we have a special program for providing school supplies to children who might otherwise go to school without any. The Fort Bend Collaborative Information System provides a county wide ‘Back To School’ event each year. Households who have registered receive a new backpack filled with supplies and a new pair of shoes.

Christmas Program

The Fort Bend County Collaborative Information System holds an annual ‘Santa Claus Is Coming To Fort Bend County’ toy drive. In December, households who have registered and meet minimal requirements are invited to select toys for their children. Kids enjoy a day with Santa Claus while parents receive wrapping paper and unwrapped toys for their kids.
